About the Program
Noora Health’s HIV/AIDS program in Punjab, in collaboration with NACO and PSACS (Punjab State Aids Control Society) which is the Sate's HIV/AIDS monitoring body for NACO (National Aids Control Organization) emphasises improving medication adherence and the quality of life of PLHIVs (People living with HIV)
The program provides tailored educational resources and support systems designed to help patients maintain their treatment regimen and manage their health effectively.
Challenge
Integration with Existing Systems: Ensuring that the program integrates seamlessly with local healthcare practices and systems to enhance service delivery without causing disruption.
Privacy and Mental Health: Ensuring patient privacy while supporting mental health management for individuals living with HIV.
Addressing High-Risk Behaviours: Reducing high-risk behaviours and addressing the stigma associated with them is vital to improving health outcomes and controlling the spread of the virus. By focusing on behavioural change and creating stigma-free environments, we can enhance health management and encourage timely treatment and preventive action.
Design Approach
The design approach centered on creating practical, culturally relevant resources to address the multifaceted needs of HIV patients. The team conducted in-depth research to understand the specific challenges related to medication adherence, mental health, privacy, and socioeconomic factors.
Based on this, we developed educational materials and tools that were accessible and respectful of local cultural norms. The design also included features to support patients dealing with drug addiction and other related issues, ensuring that these resources integrated smoothly into existing healthcare systems.
My Role
As Design Lead, I and my team crafted a strategy to tackle the program’s complex challenges. I developed and refined educational materials to address privacy, mental health, and socioeconomic issues. Collaborating with stakeholders, I ensured that our solutions were both effective and seamlessly integrated into existing healthcare systems.
